Aiming sky high for charity
CASCAID is a new asset management industry initiative created to raise £1 million for Cancer Research UK in 2017. Spearheaded by industry leaders, the initiative hosts a diverse range of individual and team fundraising events. The campaign features 100 ambassadors across the industry, including seven enthusiastic fundraisers from Schroders: Marcus Brookes, Paul Truscott, Phil Middleton, Sam Gold, Katie Wagstaff, Caspar Rock and Darren Morgan. The plan is to get everyone raising money in lots of different ways - it's like our industry's version of Comic Relief!
It is recognised that most individuals and companies already have significant charity commitments. CASCAID is not about replacing these - it's more about collaborating to achieve more and do a little extra...
On Saturday 10 June, a team of ten brave volunteers from Schroders abseiled down Broadgate Tower in the City of London. Abseilers included our Group Chief Executive, Peter Harrison, and Global Head of Equities, Nicky Richards. Our other abseilers were Philip Betteridge, Marcus Brookes, Sam Gold, Sophia Lerche-Thompsen, Phil Middleton, James Sym, Katie Wagstaff and Jo Westhead.
The team have raised over £55,000 to date, including Schroders' charity matching, but it's not too late to donate:
