Information and correction

You are entitled at any time to request information on your personal data we have stored. You may also demand correction of your data at any time. Please address such requests to us in text form (i.e. by telefax, letter or e-mail).

Use of cookies

We use so-called session cookies – small files with configuration information – which help realise special user functions. We do not collect personal data via these cookies. The session cookie will be deleted once you leave the website.

In addition, we use permanent cookies which are transmitted to the hard disk of your computer via your browser. We can read these cookies during each visit to our website. For these so-called permanent cookies, we use a pseudonym to protect your data. This kind of cookies is erased automatically six months after your last visit to our website.

Users may delete cookies locally stored on their computer at any time or select a browser setting that does not accept cookies. All functions of the website may also be used without cookies; however, some user-defined characteristics and settings will not be available.

Here, you will find additional information on the cookies used on this website.

Use of social plug-ins

Our website uses social plug-ins of different providers specified in detail in the following. With the aid of such plug-ins, you can share contents or recommend products. These plug-ins are deactivated on our website by default and therefore do not automatically send data to the respective social media provider as soon as you visit the website. By clicking on the button of the respective plug-in, you can activate it (so-called 2-click solution).

If you do not wish social networks to collect your data via our website, you need to log out from the respective network before activating the plug-in. Even if you have not signed in with the social networks, websites with active social plug-ins can send data to such networks. If a plug-in is active, a cookie with an identifier is placed whenever our website is called up. Since your browser automatically sends this cookie whenever you are connected to a network server, the network could, in principle, develop a profile which websites have been called up by the user with this identification. In that case, it would certainly be possible to match this identifier to an individual – for example when this individual signs in with the social network at a later point in time.

If you do not wish social networks to collect your data via active plug-ins, you can either leave the social plug-ins deactivated or deactivate them. You can further select the function "block cookies from third-party providers" in your browser settings. If you do this, the browser will not send cookies to the server when contents of other providers have been embedded. However, such a setting may mean that not only plug-ins, but other functions located on multiple pages cease to work.

Facebook social plug-ins

We use social plug-ins (hereinafter “plug-ins”) of the social network facebook.com operated by Facebook Inc., 1601 S. California Ave, Palo Alto, CA 94304, USA (hereinafter “Facebook”). The plug-ins may be identified through one of the Facebook logos (white “f” on a blue tile or a “raised thumb”) or are characterised by the addendum “Facebook social plug-in”.

If you call up the website of our Internet presence containing an activated Facebook plug-in, your browser will establish a direct connection to the servers of Facebook. The content of the plug-in will be transmitted by Facebook directly to your browser which incorporates it into the website. Therefore, we have no influence on the scope of the data which Facebook collects with the aid of this plug-in and therefore inform you on the basis of what we know:

By incorporation of the plug-ins, Facebook will receive the information that you have called up the relevant page of our Internet presence. If you are logged in with Facebook, Facebook can match the visit to your Facebook account. If you interact with the plug-ins, for example push the "like" button or post a comment, the relevant information will be transmitted directly by your browser to Facebook. If you are not a member of Facebook, it is still possible that Facebook will learn and store your IP address.

With regard to the purpose and scope of data collection and the further processing and use of the data by Facebook and your rights and setting options in this respect to protect your privacy, please refer to the privacy statement of Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/policy.php.

If you are a member of Facebook and do not wish Facebook to collect your data via our Internet presence to link it with your membership data stored at Facebook, you should not activate the plug-in or should log out from Facebook before activating the plug-in.

Likewise, it is possible to block Facebook social plug-ins with add-ons for your browser, for example the "Facebook blocker".

Twitter buttons

Our service uses the buttons of Twitter https://twitter.com/about/resources/buttons. These buttons are provided by Twitter Inc., 795 Folsom St., Suite 600, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA. They may be identified by terms such as "Twitter" or “follower", together with a stylised blue bird. Thanks to these buttons, it is possible to share a contribution or a page of this service through Twitter or to follow the provider on Twitter.

If users call up the website of our Internet presence containing an activated button, their browser will establish a direct connection to the servers of Twitter. The content of the twitter buttons will be transmitted directly to the browser of the user by Twitter. Therefore, the provider has no influence on the scope of the data which Twitter collects with the aid of this plug-in and therefore informs you on the basis of what they know. According to this, only the IP address of the user and the URL of the respective website are transmitted when the button is activated, but not used for any purposes other than presentation of the button. For further information, please refer to the privacy statement of Twitter under http://twitter.com/privacy.

LinkedIn button

LinkedIn receives information when you use your LinkedIn account to sign in on a website or a third-party application.

If you visit a website with activated plug-ins of LinkedIn and are signed on as a member of LinkedIn, LinkedIn will use this information to recommend contents which are especially relevant for you. With this information, the functions on third-party websites provided to you by LinkedIn will be personalised. Among other things, your LinkedIn network enables you to expand your knowledge and exchange information with your network (direct contacts and second-degree contacts). Users wishing to deactivate such personalisation may shut off this function here: https://www.linkedin.com/settings/?tab=groups&modal=nsettings-data-sharing. Retention of such data by LinkedIn is addressed in paragraph 3.2 of the privacy statement http://www.linkedin.com/legal/privacy-policy#choices-oblig.

As far as we know, LinkedIn does not use this information for advertising purposes. LinkedIn may provide reports with information collected on impressions to companies hosting plug-ins of LinkedIn and similar technologies to enable them to measure the traffic created by LinkedIn on your website. You may refuse use of your impression data by LinkedIn by clicking here: https://www.linkedin.com/settings/?=groups&modal=nsettings-offsite-privacy-management.

Xing share buttons

This service uses the XING share button. When a website with activated plug-in is called up, the browser of the user establishes a short-term connection to the servers of XING AG (“XING”) to enable the XING share button function (especially the calculation/display of the counter value). As far as we know, XING does not store any personal data of the user about calling up this service. In particular, XING does not store IP addresses. Nor will an analysis be made regarding the use of cookies in connection with the XING share button. The latest privacy information on the XING share button and additional information may be called up by users through the following website: https://www.xing.com/app/share?op=data_protection.

Google Plus button

Our Internet presence uses the  "+1"-button of the social network Google Plus operated by Google Inc., 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA (hereinafter "Google"). This button can be identified by the character "+1".

If you call up a website of our Internet presence with activated plug-ins containing such a button, your browser will establish a direct connection to the servers of Google. The content of the “+1” button will be transmitted by Google directly to your browser which incorporates it into the website. As a result, the information that you have visited our website will be passed on to Google.

We have no influence on the scope and content of the data collected by Google with the "+1" button. According to Google, no personal data will be collected without a click on the "+1" button. Personal data including the IP address will be collected, processed and stored only for members of Google+ logged in with Google - provided the plug-in is activated. However, we do not know which data exactly are collected. By the interaction with plug-ins, such as clicking on the "+1" button or leaving a comment, however, the relevant information will be transmitted directly to Google and stored there. With regard to the purpose and scope of data collection and the further processing and use of the data by Google and your rights and setting options in this respect to protect your privacy, please refer to the privacy statement of Google: http://www.google.com/intl/de/+/policy/+1button.html.

If you are a member of Google Plus and do not wish Google to collect and store your data via our Internet presence to possibly link it with your membership data stored at Google, you should not activate the plug-in or should log out from Google Plus before activating the plug-in.
